Welcome to Kirkcaldy Photographic Society.

It is my pleasure, and honour, to serve as President for a second term and to welcome you to another exciting season of photography, friendship and creativity.

​

Kirkcaldy Photographic Society has a proud history dating back to 1898, and over the years we have continued to grow and evolve while retaining the friendly and welcoming spirit that makes our club special.

​

Whether you are an experienced photographer, someone who enjoys photography as a hobby, or are simply picking up a camera for the first time, you will find a warm welcome at KPS. We have members with a wide range of interests and abilities, and one of the great strengths of our Society is the willingness of members to share their knowledge, ideas and enthusiasm with one another.

Our programme offers something for everyone, including inspiring guest speakers, practical evenings, competitions, judging sessions and fantastic photographic trips. We also provide opportunities to learn more about improving your photography, preparing images for competitions and getting the most from your camera and editing software by engaging knowledgeable guests to help inform you as you move through your photographic journey.

Although we are proud of our competitive success at regional and national level, photography at KPS is about much more than winning competitions. It is about learning, experimenting, sharing ideas, making new friends, enjoying trips out together and, above all, enjoying photography.

I would like to thank all our committee members, speakers, judges and volunteers who give their time and enthusiasm to make KPS what it is. Their contribution, together with the support and participation of our members, ensures that KPS remains a vibrant and active photographic club.

Special thanks must go to our Hospitality Manager, Stewart Russell, for over 50 years of service to the club.  We would be lost without him, jis knowledge and his commitment to the club.

So, whether you have been a member for many years or are considering joining us for the first time, I hope you will enjoy everything Kirkcaldy Photographic Society has to offer.
